| "Malibu Country" was painted on site at Malibu --- inland from the popular beach resort we are all familiar with. When Frances was well into the painting, it started to rain, so she photographed the scene, and finished it in her studio, catching the misty feeling of the beginning of the rain, with still some sunlight on this "unusual" California day. |
